Application Requirements

Documents Required in Support of a Visa Application

All applicants must submit certain personal documents such as passports, birth certificates, police certificates, and other civil documents, as well as evidence that they will not become public charges of the United States. All applicants will be informed of the documents needed for the visa application.

Medical Examination

Before the issuance of an immigrant visa, every applicant, regardless of age, must undergo a medical examination. Examinations must be conducted by a Consulate-approved doctor. Costs for such examinations must be borne by the applicant. The fee of medical examinations is $50 for adults and $25 for minors, or the equivalent in Hungarian Forints.

Visa Fees

The cost of each formal immigrant visa application is $380 or the Hungarian Forint equivalent. Fees must be paid by, or on behalf of, each intending immigrant regardless of age, and are not refundable. If the visa is not issued on the day of application the fee can be used within one year. The filing fee of a visa petition is $185 or the equivalent in Hungarian Forint.
